How to Maintain Your Heaters?

Mould temperature controller is one of the auxiliary equipment needed to cooperate with the injection molding machine. It is used to heat up the mould and maintaining a constant temperature, so as to improve efficiency and molding rate of injection molding. It can be divided into two types according to the heating medium, water and oil. Different medium requires different maintenance.
Maintenance for water heaters:

1. Purified water is strongly suggested to reduce the possible incrustation scale. If no purified water is available, you had better regularly demount the heating tube, check and clear up the scale on it.

2. The pipeline of the heater should be cleaned regularly, especially the filter mesh. Monthly cleaning is suggested while if the water quality is too poor, the cleaning should be done every week.

3. Regularly check the pump and replace the shaft seal if necessary.

As for oil heaters, besides the periodically checking on pipeline and filter, the most important point is to replace the oil at regular intervals. During long-term working at high temperature, the oil will go through overheat cracking, high-temperature oxidation, pollution and normal aging and so on, and then the inevitable aging deterioration occurs. The oil pollution mainly comes from the following aspects which the users should pay more attention to:

Over time, the aging and scaling of the oil can be series and thus cause a lot of bad effects. For example, the temperature control cannot be so accurate, the life span of the pump can be shortened and safety protection cannot be so reliable. Therefore a conclusion can be reached that the heating oil must be replaced in regular intervals.

1. The purity of the heating oil is too low.

2. The heating system is not so clean (Rust, welding slag, sand and dust can be exist).

3. Resin, asphaltene, organic acid and water can be produced by the oil system after a long-term running.

4. Natural catalysts exist in the heating system, such as iron oxide, non-ferrous metal, electrolytic copper, aluminum, tin, lead, etc..

5. Pollution caused in packing, transporting and stocking. For instance, storing the new oil in the tank which has been used to store bad oil, let rain water and impurities leak in or blend different kinds of oil together.

6. There is leakage in the heating system and impurities like crude oil or water may cause the oil quality decreased.

The heating oil will have the following changes during the high-temperature continuous operation (test condition: highest temperature of 200℃ and 24 hours successive operation).
